A quick blurb about our upcoming events and a SAIL C&C opportunity:

• Tomorrow evening, Wednesday 5/29/24, is the Picnic @ Hollingsworth Park. This is a very casual social where families bring their own picnic dinner, blankets, chairs, etc... and hang out! Swimmers can play in the field or playground... so bring spikeball, football, frisbee, etc. 6:30pm-8:30pm.

• This Friday, May 31st at 10:15am (before ribbons and awards) we will have a Guest Speaker for our Swim-A-Thon selected charity! Our 2nd annual Swim-A-Thon will be Friday, June 14th from 9am-11am. The DT Riptide Board selected Upstate Splash as this year's recipient. Steven Scott, the executive director with Upstate Splash, will speak to the swimmers about their areas of focus:
• • Teaching at risk youth to swim
  • Teaching adults to swim
  • Teaching veterans to learn to use water aquatics for mental and physical wellbeing
  He is very excited and grateful about being our chosen charity for the Swim-A-Thon. His vision for water safety certainly aligns with some of the goals we have for our children. Details are posted on our website for that Event. And the Swim-A-Thon signups will be coming soon! (Last year we raised $5,503.75 for the Glioblastoma Foundation!!)

• Championships and Classics T-Shirt Competition submissions are due in ONE WEEK! Details are below! This year the t-shirt design for Champs and Classics will be a swimmer design competition! Any swimmer or coach can submit a design of the t-shirt (shirt colors and artwork) for Champs and Classics this July!! The Executive Sail board will vote on the designs and choose a winner (designs will be anonymous when voting). Please have any shirt designs submitted via email to [email protected] by Monday, June 3rd! Thanks so much and we can't wait to see the designs!!

SAIL Night at Fluor Field is fast approaching on Tuesday June 11th! We can’t wait to see everyone at the ballpark as we celebrate all of the SAIL kids & families, and the incredible impact SAIL has had on our community for 60+ years!
SAIL Night will feature fun, exciting, family friendly entertainment all night long! In addition to the Drive baseball game, SAIL Night will include an on-field pre-game parade for all SAIL Swimmers, a family fun carnival at the ballpark including inflatables, balloon artists, and face painters, PLUS SAIL swimmers and families highlighted in pre-game honorary positions (First Pitch, Game Captains, Play Ball Announcer) and in entertainment throughout the game!
To create even more fun, and some friendly competition, each pool that sells the most SAIL Night tickets within their division will receive unique prizes and experiences including appearing on the Drive’s 28x50 center field video board, running onto the field with the Drive players as they’re introduced, and participating in on-field, between inning games.
The current SAIL Night ticket sales leaderboard is attached so you can see where you stand! We’ll be sending this out daily between now and June 11^th.
